Radhey’s Heavenly Delights – Indian Vegetarian Food

It has been a while since I last had some Northern Indian cuisine, especially in M’sia where it’s much easier to find Southern Indian and Mamak cuisine. When I first went into Radhey’s, I had no expectations and not much of an idea on the food that it serves.

I would admit though, that it is an awesome place; firstly ‘cos I’ve missed having Indian food from the Northern region, and secondly, finally, vegetarian food without all the mock meat. Also, there are no dairy products and they don’t use garlic (garlic naan lovers, you can’t get that here).

To drink, I had a lychee mocktail. It was smooth, cool and refreshing, almost like a milkshake, but not as thick.

I’d give it an 8/10.

We were only 5, so we didn’t order too much. We had some naan, curries, and rice.

Radhey's Dishes

The rice dish that we ordered was Veg Pulao.

7/10. Lovely basmati rice cooked perfectly, and nicely mixed with some spices and vegetables.

Dosa (to most of us, the more familiar pronunciation and spelling would probably be thosai).

Radhey's Dosa

8/10. I don’t remember which dosa we ordered, but it was delicious! Can’t recall the filling, but the dosa was hot and crispy when served. Yum~!

Paneer Tikka Masala.

8.5/10. This masala was bursting with awesome balanced flavours, and really good with naan, dosa, or rice! Not too spicy, but spicy enough to keep one craving for more, and then chill it down with some lychee mocktail.

Navratna Korma.

Radhey's Navratna Korma

7/10. I love vegetable korma; used to have just a plate of basmati rice with vegetable korma for lunch, 2-3 times a week. But, this version came out a little different from what I had expected, probably because I didn’t know what Navratna-style korma was, and that it was whiter in colour compared to what I was used to.

Aloo Gobhi.

7.5/10. I reckon that anything with “Gobi” should be delicious. It’s mild in flavour, but good: the potatoes were nicely cooked, soft, and well-blended with all the flavours and aroma from the spices. Nice.

We all had a great time there. The restaurant was busy enough, but not noisy, so it’s really a great place to have dinner with families or friends, in big or small groups. The price was reasonable.

So, in conclusion… Radhey’s, will I be back? I’d give it a 8.5/10. Great food. Great ambience. Great price. Just a little too unknown to the rest of the world. Yes, I will be back for more 🙂
